meh, when it's ready was used by Epic Games for Unreal and id software for quake long before Anet was here. Dunno why Anet get so much hassle over this, this is pretty normal for (game) developers.

Nice, you get stuff for dong stuff, not for completing something.
So, the more you do, the more you get, but since each title and statue is different, you have to make a lot of different things...
Well, could be worse...

I think it was also used by John Romero for Daikatana.
Anet gets hassled for using it because it's unprofessional and unacceptable in today's environment.
Try using using that one on your boss some time.

Actually, it is not.
It gets unacceptable when it sounds like a lame excuse.

What makes you think that, apart from optimism.

Mostly optimism. Plus we haven't got any new info forever, and HoM probably being the next info.

The 'sad' thing is that no one will care about HoM benefits as soon as the first GW2 shinies are seen.

@Shanaeri Rynale: True for the whinners and epeen guys.
Not so much for those that got them for nostalgias sake.
It is still nice to get out that Chimeric Prism once in a while and the Divine Aura is almost as good as day one. (At least for some professions)

Maybe we'll get to see weapons that grow with the level of the wielder, like some weapons in LotRO. Then they won't get obsolete or don't grant you an unfair advantage over fresh starters or those who haven't filled their HoM.

i love when people comment on this stuff that don't care about it. there are people who play for this type of stuff because it feels like an accomplishment. i want a gw1 set of armor or commemorative set of armor from gw1 in gw2. you didn't work at it because you didn't care? great, that is your opinion. leave the legacy stuff to those of us who do care about it and it won't matter.

Since clothing will be a part of GW2, it is possible we'll get something that resembles the player's allegiance or devotion.

If its a points system, they'll probably give us a bit of choice and a list of weapon skins/armor skins(that cost more) and according to how they look will cost more points and such. They might do creative things for the housing and maybe emotes and such but I think the core of it will end up being skins for armors/weapons.
I don't care if they're outclassed by skins of GW2 endgame, this is simply the crossover.
What they lack in frequent content release can be made up by anticipation of HoM rewards to keep the hype of GW2 alive, and right now, theyre failing on that.

It's been almost a month. Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but when one of the devs says something exactly like, "VERY SOON" in all caps you tend to take him at his word for it. It's almost been a month. Doesn't he know NOT to do that to people on forums who have a borderline obsessive nature when it comes to GW info?
Most of the time I have nothing but effusive praise for the anet team. but come on man, out with it already. I don't want to hear any, "but they had PAX and they just got back etc." He knew they had PAX well before he said this.
Release the info bro.

I'd say lets wait till 2011 and their new year's plans. Doh!

Make of this what you will: Taken from official GW2 website, Q&A...
When will we find out the specific benefits that the Hall of Monuments provides to Guild Wars 2 characters?
We will reveal exactly how the Hall of Monuments works when we're closer to the launch of the game.

Does this mean that when they release the HoM info, they're in fact close to launching the game?
